This is particularly true when it comes to the music of Orpheus Britannicus Henry Purcell, who barely lived 36 years; Edward Elgar, the distinguished gentleman-composer of the Victorian and Edwardian eras; and Benjamin Britten, the brilliant British master of the 20th century. In 2026, they will take centre stage at Müpa Budapest’s traditional concert marathon.
