Some operas are legendary. None more so than Puccini's work telling the tale of young bohemians in Paris, in which one of the most beautiful romances in operatic literature begins with a burnt-out candle and a misplaced key.There are also legendary opera productions, such as this one directed by Kálmán Nádasdy. With Gusztáv Oláh's marvellous scenery, it is a genuine example of theatrical history that has remained on the Opera's programme calendar since 1937, with nearly 900 performances to date. Some things are timeless. This wonderful production is unquestionably one of them.

Nabuccot, a babiloni királyt Kálmándy Mihály Kossuth-díjas operaénekes, a Halhatatlanok Társulatának örökös tagja alakításában láthatja a közönség 2026-ban is. A magyar bariton már pályája kezdetén, a kolozsvári Gh. Dima Zeneakadémia hallgatójaként Verdi Nabuccójának címszerepével debütált. Később a Teatro Verdi Trieste-ben bemutatott Nabucco-produkciójával vette kezdetét nemzetközi karrierje.
Recirquel’s new production, Paradisum explores the myth of rebirth following the silence of a destroyed world, where the means of communication is the body, and the only common language is movement. The creatures of this idyllic existence unfold from the ever-changing, swirling natural forces of the ‘fabric of life’ that pulsates around them, so they can reach the anima mundi, the world soul, through scenes of purification, birth, awakening and ritual.
