Guest: Zita Számfira-Nagy and Máté Számfira, folk dance duo
Host: Szilvia Becze

Four hands and twenty fingers will dance across the piano keys during the autumn evening of the Egri & Pertis Piano Duo's concert series Crosstalks, which explores the interaction between arts. Did Leó Weiner know how to perform folk dances, and did his fellow composers master this genre? Probably not. This makes it even more astonishing to see what a decisive role folk dance played in the history of classical music. Not only did it lead to the emergence of independent musical genres, but it also inspired countless unique compositions. The audience will hear a selection from this colorful repertoire, including works by Schubert, Dvořák, Grieg, and Leó Weiner. Folk dance will be featured not only on the keys, but also on stage, performed by the concert's guest artists, Zita Számfira-Nagy and Máté Számfira, a folk dance duo honored with the title of Young Masters of Folk Art. In a short stage conversation, they will also talk about the reverse direction of crosstalk: whether classical music had an influence on folk dance. The concert will again be hosted by Szilvia Becze.

The series is sponsored by OTP Bank.
