Closed Doors - VASAS DANSE

Closed Doors - VASAS DANSE

The presence of another person is a stimulus on stage. A stimulus that immediately becomes a question, a challenge, an attack. When two people meet, values, customs, traditions, and languages always come together. Expectations.  more

Current events

The compulsion to meet other’s expectations. I have to make room within myself for the other person, who can only find meaning within me according to my own rules and my own axis of experience. That is how my own existence is reinterpreted in the other.

A simple instinct: two people, when left alone in a room, want to form a connection in that empty space. That is the foundation of our modern civilisation and the majority—if not the whole—of human history. We wish to show a contemporary impression of this universal principle: two people meeting on stage.

Suggestions

The Great Dictator, Charlie Chaplin’s most influential work, is a deeply humanistic piece of cinematic art.

„Hegedűs a háztetőn… valahol mind azok vagyunk. Megpróbálunk egy letisztult dallamot kicsalni, miközben egyensúlyozunk, hogy ne szegjük nyakunkat. Nem könnyű!”
